Abstract

503,554. Moulding tiled slabs. BRYON, N. L., BLEAKLEY, A., and BRYON & CO., Ltd. Oct. 12, 1937, No. 27701. [Class 87 (ii)] A mould for producing slabs of the kind described in Specification 503,668, [Group X], has side sections a hinged at b and provided with glass or other hard material loose linings c, fillets d, f being arranged in spaces between the opposing sections. In use, the mould is opened, the linings are wetted and tiles h are laid on them. The mould is then closed with the fillets d arranged on flanges a<9> in the bottom and ends of the mould, and packing pieces j arranged between the flanges and the tiles. Cementitious material is then applied through the top of the mould to the backs of the tiles. The fillet f is then forced into the top of the mould and completes the peripheral groove in the slab. The mould is then opened, and the article is removed on one of the glass linings c as a pallet. One of the end fillets is formed on a bar adapted to be held in adjusted position on the frame a<2> of the mould, to produce slabs of different lengths.
