Abstract
503,439. Sand-blast. TAGG, G., and TAGG, J. F. Dec. 4, 1937, No. 33591. [Class 60] A sand-blast distributing cowl, for example, as used in the apparatus for sand-blasting tiles, bricks, slabs, &c. described in Specification 370,613, [Group V], and having a convergent internal passage of double convex formation in transverse section, comprises a pair of flat end plates c connected by straps c<1> provided with lugs c<2> for attachment to an arm d, the end plates c having therein dovetail grooves c<3>. Slidably mounted in the grooves are side plates b of convex form, these plates being removable for replacement when worn. In a modification, the side plates are in the form of domed discs rotatably mounted on straps connecting the end plates; the discs may be free to rotate, or may be rotated positively, either continuously or intermittently.
