[Class 38 (i)] [Also in Groups XI, XXXV, and XXXVII] In a signal lamp having a carrier 15 for a plurality of electric lamps 30 and means, automatically operative on failure of the positioned lamp, to move the carrier to bring another one into position where it is connected in the circuit, the carrier is driven by an electric motor adapted to operate so long as current is supplied thereto, and means are provided for preventing supply of current to the motor sc long as current is flowing in the lamp circuit. In one form, the apparatus according to the invention is identical with that described with reference to Figs. 2 to 6 of the drawings accompanying Specification 503,333.
