[Class 112] In a sewing-machine with a feedframe 18 oscillating about pivots 29, 39 and having guides in the end of its upper arm, for a reciprocating needle-bar 14 and feed-foot 61 while its lower arm carries a feed-dog 52, as described in Specification 2411/11, [Class 112], the feed-dog 52, instead of being fixed to the feed-frame 18, is movable vertically relatively thereto. In the form shown, the lower arm of the frame 18 is cut short close to the pivot 39 and has pivoted to it at 45 a rocking lever 44 to which the dog 52 is fixed. The end 54 of the lever 44 opposite to the dog carries a guide member 59 sliding vertically between cheeks on the frame 18 and is balljointed at 55 to a pitman 56 driven by an eccentric on the main shaft of the machine. The pivot pin 45 of the lever 44 is eccentric to allow adjustment of the dog 52. The needle is in the work during the feeding movement of the members 52, 61, and a spring-pressed presser-foot 62, sliding in the head of the machine, is provided to hold the work between feed movements. The bars carrying the presser-foot 62 and feed-foot 61 are pivotally connected to a lever oscillated by a crank on the main shaft of the machine so that each alternately provides a fulcrum whereby the other may be lifted from the work.
