502,266. Cartons &c. for liquids. BLAKEMORE, K. B. J. Oct. 25, 1937, No. 29120. [Classes 18 and 66] A liquid-tight or other carton &c. of paper, thin cardboard, &c., e.g. for milk, in substantially the form of a pyramid on a triangular base, is made from the blank shown in Fig. 1 to the form shown in Fig. 4 by folding the gnomon M O P Q R about its diagonal 14 while square P Q R S meanwhile folds about its diagonal 14 so that it lies between the arms of the gnomon, sides M N, NO, being secured together by adhesive and also OP, PS and MR, RS. During the process of securing by adhesive, a filler 23 is positioned in the container as indicated in Fig. 1 by dotted lines so that the material is bent in such a way that the sides lie a little apart. The filler is afterwards withdrawn. The apex N may be cut off and the container closed by a bent metal strip. The blank may also be of any of the shapes shown in Fig. 5, in order that the angle of tilt of the container when stood on its base may be varied. Wood reinforcing strips may be applied at the base.
