501,688. Milling-machines. HAITHWAITE, F., and FIRTH, J. L. Jan. 19, 1938, No. 1741. [Class 83 (iii)] A milling-machine has an overarm 11, Fig. 3, which carries a depending bracket 8 supporting the outer end of the spindle 6 and is located in the line of the resultant force through the spindle axis. In a modification, Fig. 1, two overarms 9, 10, are employed, the line of the resultant force preferably intersect ing a line joining the axes of the overarms at right-angles so that the turning moments about the two overarms are approximately balanced.
