[Class 7 (iv)] Washers 19 of C-section, concave outwardly, are interposed between a curved shoulder on the insulator and the inturned end of the casing, or the gland screwed into the casing. The washer may also be held by the lower end of a tubular metallic shield 40 inserted in and welded or brazed to the end of the casing. This shield is lined with mica or the like, a thin metallic shell being interposed.
