Abstract
499,243. Dustbins. LINDE, H. March 15, 1938, No. 8062. [Class 26] [Also in Group XVII] In a metal dustbin comprising a jacket part and a bottom part which are folded together some distance above the bottom of the vessel and in such a manner that the fold comes on the outside and the inside of the bin is as smooth as possible, and a foot ring having a recess in which the folded joint is received and a flange on which the bottom of the bin rests, the foot ring is of rolled wrought iron of substantially constant thickness throughout and is thicker than the plate of the jacket and bottom parts, and bears from below against the joint by means of an outwardly bent seat. The ring 4, in one rolling operation, is shaped to fit over the joint 3 and bent to the curve of the bin. It is then placed round the bin and its ends pressed together and joined, preferably by welding. Specification 452,828 is referred to.
