Abstract

Rubber thread consisting of three or more filaments united in a compact group without twisting or braiding, is made by extruding filaments of latex at a common speed into coagulant, and drawing them vertically out of the coagulant in contact with one another. Each filament then makes contact with the other two. The filaments may be extruded vertically upwards from nozzles arranged in a triangle, or in a line, the nozzles being fed from a common or from separate sources. The thread may be drawn from the coagulant by a roller and may then be further coagulated. Specifications 219,635 and 290,313, [both in Class 70], are referred to.
