498,669. Ships' sanitary drainage. STONE & CO., Ltd., J., and TUCKER, J. F. June 8, 1937, No. 15846. [Class 113 (i)] In a ships' sewage system in which the sewage is discharged intermittently under water the non-return valve 8 on the outlet pipe from the collecting tank is float actuated. When discharge commences the valve is drawn from its seating 9 by suction from the main ejector acting on the inside of the valve through the hollow guide 4. Packing 4<1> and 11 maintain a tight joint when the valve is in its lowermost position. The suction for actuating the valve is obtained from a second nozzle in the main ejector.
