497,992. Rectilinear-motion bearings. VEREINIGTE BAUBESCHLAG - FABRIKEN GRETSCH & CO., GES. April 14, 1938, No. 11473. Convention date, April 30, 1937. [Class 12 (i)] [Also in Group X] A ball-bearing for the hanger of a sliding door comprises a rail 4 and balls engaging the recessed sides 1 of a fixed guide rail so that thrust parallel or at rightangles to the sides is resisted. The axis 6 of the door and rail joint is parallel to the rail. The sides of the fixed rail have inturned edges 1a, 1b, to protect the race from dirt and one limb is preferably longer so that when fixed to a wall it will project outwardly when placed above to give more protection. The ball carriage is U-shaped and has an arched middle member 5a.
