[Class 40 (v)] In a system in which a number of screened circuit components such as amplifiers, filters, modulators and lines are arranged contiguously on a common rack, said components are arranged in a number of sections, in each of which the screens of the circuit components are all connected together, are insulated from the rack, and are connected to earth conductively or capacitively only at one point at or near a place where the circuit components themselves have an earth connection. The arrangement avoids mutual interference as a result of indirect couplings from common earth impedances. An amplifier may comprise a plurality of valves each enclosed within a separate screen with its associated circuit elements and the screen of each valve may enclose the screens of the preceding valves.
