493,791. Rolling sheets. BRITISH DRIVER-HARRIS CO., Ltd., and DRENNAN, J. May 1, 1937, No. 12486. [Class 83 (iv)] A rough surface is imparted to nickel and other metal strip or sheet of similar ductility by passing it along with rough surfaced paper, fabric or like non-metallic flexible strip through the rolls of a rolling-mill. Both sides may be roughened by having a paper strip on each side of the nickel strip. The strips may be led from and to spools and the strip tension may be variable. The metal strip is used when carbonized in thermionic valves.
