[Class 52 (iv)] A flexible sheet or a number of flexible strips i forming a seating surface are secured at one end to a spring roller b rotatable on trunnions d in which are secured the ends of an axial spring e controlling the roller. In a modified form shown in Fig. 3 the trunnion has a rotatable sleeve l which can be angularly adjusted to alter the spring tension.
