Abstract

A wet semi-solid food for animals is made from distillers' slop by separating the suspended fibrous particles from the slop, concentrating the slop, mixing therewith the mass containing the suspended fibrous solids which is ground before or after being mixed with the concentrated slop, and packing the product in airtight containers. The product contains a self-preserving quantity of lactic acid. Colloidal iodine, and substances containing vitamins or hormones such as ground liver or glands, or glandular extracts may be added.
