Abstract
489,472. Railway crossings and' switches. CASTIN, M., and HASSEL, P. VAN. Nov. 20, 1937, No. 31970. Convention date, Nov. 24, 1936. [Class 104 (i)] [Also in Group XXXI] The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises the switch arrangement shown in the Figure, in which rail sections 14, 15 are pivoted respectively at 16, 17 and connected by a rod 18 for movement into the positions shown in full and broken lines. The gap a between the rail sections is sufficient for the passage of horizontal driving wheels on the vehicle bearing against the sides of the rails. At the crossing a single rail section 19 is centrally pivoted and is coupled by rods or wires 20, 21 to the switch rod 18. The switch and crossing are operated by the vehicles through treadles 22, 23. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
