Abstract
143,437. McKenzie, Holland, & Westinghouse Power Signal Co., Dyer, H. H., and Davey, R. G. July 28, 1919. Combined electrical and mechanical systems.- At the intersection of two tracks, one of which is parallel to an adjacent track, a track relay 8 is connected to the crossing sections 5, 6 and arranged to control the relay 9 of the block section 10, 11, 13, 14, 15 in the rear of the crossing section in such a manner that the relay 9 after de-energization by a train passing through the section 10, 11 can only be re-energized after the train has passed the crossing section 5, 6, but a train passing along the crossing section on the load 4 does not de-energize the relay 9. The relays 8, 9 control circuits as shown to locking- magnets 21, 24 which control, respectively, locks on the hand levers operating the signals 26, 27 for the main and branch roads.
