[Class 135] [Also in Groups XXXVII and XII] A thermostatic device for the direct mechanical regulation of dampers and valves comprises a body A exposed to the water of a heating boiler and containing an expansible liquid which acts on a bellows 3 having a thrust rod 5a connected to a platform 19 which carries a second body B exposed to the vapour pressure of fluid in a member 7 exposed to the outside temperature. The body B contains a bellows 6 having a thrust rod 11 acting on a lever 25 pivoted at 26 to the platform 19 and having an adjustable abutment screw 27 which bears on a lever 21 which operates a damper or valve through the medium of a chain 22. An adjustable weight 28 serves to operate the damper or valve in one direction. By this arrangement, the damper or valve, which may be the air shutter of a heating furnace, is regulated in joint dependence on the temperature of the boiler water and the outside temperature.
