Abstract

488,822. Design - building appliances. CLARK, W. H. Nov. 12, 1937, No. 31146. [Class 146 (ii)] A device for demonstrating schemes of decoration comprises a three-sided collapsable frame provided with clips or other means for selectively supporting a number of main cards representing three walls of a room decorated with wall paper, paint, &c., and further cards representing window dressings, fire places, or the like, and furniture models, or floor coverings. The frame is composed of three card or plywood members E, E<1>, E<2>, the back member E being hinged, if desired to a base D, and clips H being provided for enabling the sides E<1>, E<2> to be secured in desired positions. The cards B, B', B<2> representing the walls of the room are hinged together and are connected to the frame by clips G. Cards ruled off in squares and faced with tracing-paper are also provided so that sketches of desired schemes can be made and inserted into place. A card or wood member K may represent a ceiling and a light may be placed behind a hand-grip aperture L. The base D and back E of the frame may constitute the lid of a container O designed to accommodate the various elements, the lid being attached by levers P, and the member K forming the cover for a compartment for the furniture models F.
