[Class 78 (i)] [Also in Group XXV] Conveyer chains are provided with joint pins E eccentrically mounted in bushes C and carrying arms S which co-operate with guides so as to turn the pins through 180‹ for the, purpose of altering the pitch and speed of the chain. The application referred to is for drying fabrics such as artificial silk where shrinking of the material takes place during drying. In the case of an endless conveyer, the change takes place in reverse sense in the outward and return runs so that the total length of the chain remains constant.
