Abstract

487,346. Resilient mountings. GOLDSCHMIDT, M. Dec. 21, 1936, No. 35024. Convention date, Feb. 15. [Class 108 (iii)] In a resilient support or connection for use in the construction of motor vehicles and aircraft comprising corrugated metal plates 1, 2 between which a rubber mass 3 is vulcanized, in order to limit relative longitudinal displacement of the plates, the corrugations 5, 6 therein are made of such depth and the plates are so arranged that when the support is unloaded a corrugation on one plate extends between those on the other plate. The device is adapted to be secured in position by bolts 4 non-rotatably mounted in the plates with their heads embedded in the rubber. To prevent the rubber being squeezed out between the sides of the plates and transverse separation of the parts connected by the device should the rubber be destroyed, projections 7, 8, 9, 10 on opposite corners of the plates are bent alternately at right-angles to cover the corresponding portions of the side-surfaces of the rubber.
