Abstract

486,978. Bearings. ROWLEDGE, A. J. Jan. 26, 1937, Nos. 2294 and 4807. [Class 12 (i)] [Also in Group XXVI] In a big-end assembly in which a master rod is rigid with a big end bearing C to which other rods are pivotally connected, the bearing is provided with three parallel webs E between which the forked ends E<1> of the pivoted rods extend to be secured by pins G. The pin is tapered where it passes through the webs E and is secured by a bolt H. The bearing is in halves bolted together and keyed against relative movement either by cylindrical pins engaging grooves in the contacting faces, or by interengaging V-shaped serrations in the said faces.
