Abstract

486,249. Jewellery; buttons. FLINT, C. April 24, 1937, Nos. 11782 and 25530. [Class 43] A brooch &c. comprises a body part 1, Fig. 2, to the rear face of which is detachably secured a flanged cap or shell 6 for holding or enclosing absorbent material 8 adapted to be impregnated with scent. The cap is formed with radial slots 10 and is preferably provided with an internally-threaded boss 9 for engagement with a rearwardly-extending screwthreaded shank 5 on a forwardly-set part 3 of the brooch. Fig. 8 shows the invention applied to a button 14, the slotted cap being provided with a screwed shank 19 for engagement with a threaded recess 18 in the back of the button and also an attachment shank 20. One of the Provisional Specifications describes also a construction in which the rear face of the brooch is provided with an upstanding annular rim for engagement by the flange of the cap, the cap being secured to the rim by reason of its tight fit or by a catch device &c.
