    Description of embodiments
  • In the first embodiment, a replaceable transparent or opaque capsule (11), such as of glass or polycarbonate, has a capacity of 0.6 ml, corresponding to half the capacity of a perfume sample vial, and is filled with a scent intended to be used for aromatherapy. As is customary with off-the-shelf tubes of toothpaste, a seal (12) is welded to the capsule (11) to keep fragrance from running out. In a two-stage snap-on connection, the capsule (11) engages with a retainer (14) that is in turn received by a decorative receptacle (15), such as of precious metal or stainless steel galvanized with rose or yellow gold, the capsule (11) and retainer (14) forming a closed system.
  • In the present embodiment, the retainer (14) contains a cut-out felt (13) and an acute member such as a spike, pin, or punch protruding through the cut-out toward the seal (12). Consequently, the member pierces or otherwise breaches the seal (12) when the capsule (11) snaps home into its second position, then fully immersed in the retainer (14). The felt (22), in this example, is 3.5 mm thick and measures 18 mm in diameter, allowing it to absorb about 11 or 12 drops of fragrance such as perfume or essential oil. A circumferential groove or transversal bore is formed in the spike and, once the wearer breaches the seal (12) by depressing the capsule (11), conveys the fragrance therefrom into the felt (13).
  • On both side faces, the retainer (14) has three vents each, dimensioned such as to prevent the fragrance from seeping through while still allowing it to volatilize until depleted. Through bayonet coupling, the retainer (14) screws into the receptacle (15) up to its stop position, in which the vents open into a clearance formed between retainer (14) and receptacle (15).
  • A preferably resizable wristband (16), such as of polyurethane, attaches bilaterally to the receptacle (15) opposite a magnetic clasp (17) that is bolted, screwed, or otherwise fastened to the intended underside of the wristband (16). Even devoid of fragrance, the wristband (16) may serve as jewelry if manufactured from precious metals and decorated with precious stones, zirconia, or crystal glass stones.
  • In the second embodiment, the capsule (21) rigidly connects to the retainer (23) ex works. As no seal covers the capsule (21) itself, neither spike nor cut-out are required, allowing the felt (22) to absorb about 15 drops of fragrance. To nonetheless prevent the fragrance from evaporating prior to use, the vents of this embodiment are covered by a pealable sealing strip (24).
  • In the third embodiment, a bezel (31) - measuring, for instance, 16 mm in diameter - is plugged onto the retainer (33) and encompasses a synthetic stone, such as zirconia or cut glass, or gemstone (32). While the retainer (33) itself is prefilled with the fragrance and doubles as a pod or base to accommodate the stone (32), the latter serves no technical purpose other than to hide the removable retainer (33) underneath. Opposite the bezel (31), a preferably snap-on bottom (36) covers the underside of the retainer (33), thus encasing the felt (35), which in this case would typically be limited to a diameter of 15 mm.
  • In the fourth embodiment, opposite the receptacle (46), an elastic ring (42), such as of rubber, is snapped onto or into the retainer (44). By means of a circumferential groove, a brilliant-cut rhinestone (41) in turn snaps into the ring (42), resulting in a detachable connection between rhinestone (41) and retainer (44). With the rhinestone (41) resting above the retainer (44), both components are interchangeable independently of one another. The rhinestone (41), in varying colors, may therefore be offered as a separate piece of jewelry.
  • In the fifth embodiment, while also brilliant-cut, the rhinestone (41) is flattened toward the retainer (44) by removing its cone end. Despite its oblate underside, the rhinestone (41) still maintains a pleasing appearance to the onlooker. Since in this variant the rhinestone (41) does not protrude into the retainer (44), the ring (42) can be saucer-shaped, improving its ability to seal off the retainer (44) and prevent fragrance from leaking.
  • In the sixth and final embodiment, the rhinestone (52) is arranged below its ring-shaped bezel (51), which has an internal thread (51B) that mates with an external thread (52B) of the wristband's receptacle (58). While in the present embodiment, the bezel (51) is locked by twisting or latching, it should be noted that the rhinestone (52) could also be positioned on top of the bezel (51) and fastened in a different manner, such as through claws or a groove provided in the rhinestone (52). The bezel (51) or other mount serves to hold the (brilliant-cut) rhinestone (52) at full height without interfering with the sealing rubber ring (53) below. Still, the rhinestone (52) may easily be replaced by removing the bezel (51).
  • Instead of relying on slow evaporation, the skilled artisan will appreciate that the bracelet may be equipped with some sort of vaporizer or spray nozzle without departing from the scope of the invention.
  • Industrial applicability
  • The invention is applicable, among others, throughout the health and cosmetic industries.
