Abstract

485,793. Making scythes &c. AMERICAN FORK & HOE CO. March 3, 1937, No. 6324. Convention date, Oct. 6, 1936. [Class 83 (ii)] [Also in Group I] A cutter blade, which may be applied to a weed cutting implement, comprises a body portion 2 formed by cutting a blank with concave edges, pressing corrugations inwardly from each edge a short distance and finally grinding off the corrugations on the under side on a bevel 15. A strengthening rib 14 is preferably formed along the longitudinal middle of the blade when the corrugations are made. The body portion 2 terminates in an upwardly bent heel portion 4, preferably formed with strengthening ribs 6, and ending in a straight shank 5.
