485,382. Evacuating tins or jars. LUXTON, W. J., and GREEN, W. A. Nov. 18, 1936, No. 31625. [Class 125 (ii)] An apparatus for evacuating and sealing tins, jars, &c. has two vacuum chambers 1, 2, which are closed alternately by a common door 4. A vacuum pump 5 evacuates each of the chambers on the operation of cocks 9, 10. The door 4 slides in a runway 13 on rollers 14. An operator can empty one chamber while the other is being evacuated &c. The usual soldering means &c. may be employed in the chambers.
