Abstract

485,277. Picking-mechanism. POLLOCK, W. Nov. 25, 1937, No. 32484. [Class 142 (iii)] In an underpick loom for weaving fancy gauze fabrics with a twisted double thread warp, with a gauze reed which rises and falls each pick, two or more (x) picks of a ground weft inserted by one shuttle are followed by a pick of a contrasting ground weft inserted by a second shuttle, a rotary picking control cam being used giving 2(x+1) picks per revolution, the part 1 causing two consecutive picks to be made from one side of the loom, and the part 6 two consecutive picks from the other side of the loom, whilst the parts 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10 cause a pick to be made alternately from the two sides of the loom.
