Abstract
484,797. Copying images on lenticular colour films. NORDMANN, C. Oct. 7, 1936, No. 27284. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, April 8, 1937.] [Class 98 (ii)] In copying images on lenticular colour films onto lenticular material, the relative aperture of the lenticles of the copy film is less than the value of the relative aperture of the lenticles of the original film divided by the magnification ratio. The marginal bands between the component images on the copy are thereby reduced in width. The marginal bands on the original may be transparent or opaque and may be rendered opaque by an additional exposure during a reversal process applied to the original film. Figures 3 and 4 show the copying process effected by projection and contact printing respectively. In both cases the support of the copy film 8 may be thicker than that of the original 2. Means may be employed to illuminate only the central part of the monochromatic images or for intercepting light from the marginal parts. The original film may be taken in a camera having an objective of relative aperture not greater than f/4, and preferably less than half that of the lenticular elements. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 comprises also methods of copying onto non-lenticular material. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
