Abstract

482,372. Powder distributers. HARRIS, E. E. Aug. 27, 1936, No. 23499. [Class 18] The closure of a powder distributer divided into two compartments 21 comprises an outer cap 9 secured by indentations 22 engaging bayonet slots in the container, an inner cap 15 resting on a ring 17 lining the top edge of container, a tubular member 11 outwardly flanged at its lower end and pressed downwards by a spring 18, and a perforated slide 10 which lies between the member 11 and the cap 15. The cap 15 is formed with openings over the two compartments and both compartments can be closed or delivery of material allowed from either compartment by appropriate movement of the slide 10. The ring 17 and cap 15 are provided with a bridge piece 13 and flanges 16 respectively to grip the partition between the two compartments. When the cap 9 is released and lifted off, the cap 15 is also removed as the indentations 22 engage lugs 24 on the inner cap. If the cap 15 and slide 10 are now removed, the member 11 is supported on pips pressed out of the cap 9.
