Abstract
481,527. Multiplex wireless signalling. ARMSTRONG, E. H. Sept. 12, 1936, No. 24941. Convention date, Sept. 14, 1935. Drawings to Specification. [Class 40 (v)] Relates to multiplex systems in which a single carrier frequency is frequency-modulated by a plurality of channels confined to non- overlapping frequency bands. In one system, one of the channels directly modulates the carrier while the others amplitude-modulate sub-carriers which then frequency-modulate the main carrier. In another system the subcarriers themselves are frequency-modulated by the channels allotted to them before frequency-modulation of the main carrier. At the receiver the channels are separated by filters after the first frequency-demodulation. Complete circuits are described for the above systems being based on the frequency modulation and demodulation systems described in Specifications 426,227 and 426,228.
