Abstract

Improved lacquers and pastes from mixed polymerizates of vinyl chloride with derivatives of unsaturated mono- or dicarboxylic acids comprise a polymeride having a pH value less than 7 dissolved in a mixture of aliphatic ketones of boiling point between 90 and 135 DEG C., alone or admixed with other solvents of lower or similar boiling point. Softening agents, natural or artificial resins, filling agents, pigments, dyestuffs, &c. may be added. Examples are given of lacquers prepared from mixed polymerizates of vinyl chloride and acrylic acid methyl ester dissolved in ketone mixtures together with softeners, resins and additional solvents.
