480,294. Electric vulcanizers. PICKWELL, A. June 21, 1937, No. 17168. [Class 39 (iii)] A portable vulcanizing-press consists of two metal platens 3, 12, Fig. 2, carrying electrical heating elements 7, 20. Three dowels 11 on the fixed platen 3 position the movable platen 12. The heating current passes through coils 7 in series with coils 20 by means of connecting pins 13, 14 on platen 3 which engage with sockets 21, 22, Fig. 4, in the platen 12. The heating circuit is thus broken when the press is opened.
