Abstract
479,218. Decorticating flax &c. HOLLIER, G. J., and MOSES, A. S., [Representatives of HOLLIER, W. J.]. Oct. 21, 1936, No. 28600. [Class 120 (i)] In decorticating-apparatus of the kind set forth in Specification 359,977, the stripper bar carrying the pins or like projections comprises a channelled holder a, Figs. 2 and 3, with two or more bars or gills b, c provided with pins d carried side by side therein, and each of which is slidable in the holder so as to align the pins or stripper elements carried by the bars or for moving the same out of register with one another as may be required during decortication. Pins may also be provided on either or each side of the stationary holder, while the gills of the stripper bar are moved in opposite directions by opposite handed cams g, g<1>, Fig. 7, which are adjustable so as to vary the extent of movement of the pins. Cloth covers i secured by clips k, Fig. 6, may be provided between adjacent stripper bar holders. Specification 375,834 also is referred to.
