479,046. Variable resistances. STEATITMAGNESIA AKT.-GES. July 29, 1936, No. 21038. Convention date, Sept. 6, 1935. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Jan. 30, 1937.] [Class 37] The resistance track comprising finely divided conducting or semi-conducting material consolidated by a hardenable binder and carried on an insulating support, is provided with two or more sections v, w of different resistivities, and the section w having the lower resistivity widens gradually from a point lying in the path of the sliding contact which in this case engages the middle of the resistance track. Preferably the boundary line is convex, as shown, and the distance over which the section w widens is at least equal to the width of the track.
