Abstract

475,885. Electric fires. FERRANTI, Ltd., and WATKISS, J. H. May 28, 1936, No. 15057. [Class 39 (iii)] In an electric fire comprising one or more rodlike heating elements 6, disposed along a line parallel to the longitudinal axis of a reflector 2 curved in one direction only, one or more bar-like reflecting members 7 arranged in parallel to the heating elements are provided each of the reflecting members being disposed so as to reflect forwardly part of the radiation from the heating elements not directed towards the curved reflector. The curved reflector and the reflecting members respectively are supported on each side of a rectangular frame 1 to which the heating elements are also attached by means of clamps 5. The latter are also supported by external brackets which in addition lock the curved reflector to the frame. Each of the reflecting members preferably has a cross-section in the form of a right-angled triangle with a curved hypotenuse.
