[Class 36] A high frequency cable comprises a tubular return conductor or screen constituted by a plurality of bands or strips, each band being applied with a long or infinitely long lay and being furnished with corrugations or indentations at least one of which does not serve for interengagement with any other band. Corrugations or indentations may be provided continuously or at intervals along the band and they may extend transversely or longitudinally or both. A cable comprises a central conductor 1, a band winding 3 of polystyrol spaced from the conductor by means of a helical cord 2, a return conductor 4 formed of bands indented transversely and longitudinally and held in position by a wire 5, insulation 6 and a lead sheath 7. The corrugations or indentations of adjacent bands may abut or some may overlap.
