Abstract

Sulphur is recovered from permanent gases containing sulphur-trioxide by adsorbing the latter in an adsorbent such as silica or alumina gel, heating the adsorbent to release the sulphur-trioxide, and reducing this to sulphur for example by the method described in Specification 458,073.
