Abstract
473,570. Kerbs. GANNON, H. July 28, 1936, No. 20844. [Classes 87 (i) and 107] A raised road kerb 4 provides two steps 5, 6 up from the footpath 10 and two steps 7, 8, down to the roadway 1, and is provided with passages 11 for the drainage of water from the footpath to the road. The kerb may be moulded in situ, or formed of a number of blocks placed end to end as shown in Fig. 3. The passages 11 extend from the level of the footpath, which may be at a higher level than the roadway, to drainage grids 3 located in the gutters. The continuity of the kerbs is broken at cross-roads, as shown, to permit the passage of perambulators and the like from one pavement to another.
