Kerbs; draining-channels. - Roads are kerbed and drained by providing a hollow kerb K having vertical drain openings 0 at the road level leading to an internal longitudinal drain D the capacity of which is extended by superposing the kerb on one or more longitudinal drains D<1>, D<2>, which are connected with the drain D and with one another by passages O<1>. In the form shown, the kerb K and drains D', D<2> are constructed of precast concrete blocks recessed and cemented together, but the drain D<1> may be cast in situ as part of the road foundation C. Rain or other water from' adjoining premises may discharge into the drain D through passages I.
