Abstract

473,490. Roofing and flooring tiles. HURDEN, E. April 20, 1936, No. 11293. [Class 87 (i)] A tile for roofing or flooring comprises a base B of corrugated cement, the grooves or hollows on the upper surface of which are filled in with porous concrete C or pumice concrete, and surfacing D of asphalt or other plastic material. The corrugated base of the tile may be roughened, perforated, or otherwise treated as at E, to ensure proper adhesion of the filling. Alternatively, metal spikes, screws, or other projections may be provided on the upper side of the base, or metal wires may be threaded through the corrugations. Specification 450,524 is referred to.
