Abstract
473,386. Seats; frames. LORENZ, A. Oct. 28, 1936, No. 29273. Convention date, Nov. 1, 1935. [Class 52 (ii)] A U-shaped seat frame is made of thin sheet metal of constant thickness throughout its length and width, and formed with projections or convexities by means of a rolling or pressing process in order to stiffen it. For example, the edges c, d, Fig. 1, of the frame are bent up, and a central groove e is pressed up along the whole length of the material. The groove e is preferably made deeper at the corners f, g, h of the frame. Short grooves l, Fig. 3, may be formed at the corners in addition to the continuous groove k. Figs. 5 and 8 show a cross-section and perspective view respectively of other forms. An extra reinforcing piece r, Fig. 11, may be incorporated in the frame. In Fig. 13, part of the frame is split and bent to form an arm rest v. The bases of the side frames may be crossed and united at x<1>, Fig. 14. Reference has been directed by the Comptoller to Specification 416,758.
