Die bis- her vorgeschlagenen Stützen aus erhielten gleiehen Querschnitt über die ganze Länge des Seitenteils, und zwar von der iStärke, in der .die am stärksten bean- spruchten Stellen zu bemessen waren;

Fig. 14 eine Anordnung sich kreuzender Stützen.
Die Stützen a und b tragen die gitzfläche j und Rückenlehne i, Der Sitz und die Rückenlehne federn wie bei den bekannten. ;Stahlstühlen;
Seating furniture with U-shaped bent springy side supports. The invention relates to seating furniture with resilient side supports which are bent in a U-shape and which bend resiliently when the seat load is taken up under the influence of the stress. In the known furniture of this type, steel tubes and flat metal strips have been proposed as resilient mate rial for the 8, side parts. Steel pipes are expensive to manufacture.
The supports proposed so far were given the same cross-section over the entire length of the side part, namely of the thickness in which the most stressed areas were to be measured;
they therefore became unnecessarily heavy and made the arrangement of additional auxiliary supports necessary, which, while relieving the arches most stressed by bending, required higher costs and weights as a result of the additional material.
According to the present invention, the particularly easy-to-manufacture and light-weight side supports made of flat-band material are created because they are made of thin, resilient sheet metal, which has projections that have a reinforcing effect,
which are formed by parts of the sheet itself. These projections are advantageously produced in such a way that bulges are pressed out of a sheet metal strip by press deformation from the plane of the sheet metal strip.
The projections increase the resistance.momen @ and are therefore preferably arranged at those points where: the greatest bending stresses exist and there is therefore a risk that the elastic limit of the material is exceeded when the load is applied.
By changing the depth, width or number of the projections, one has the ability to determine the moment of resistance of the support over its length and its elastic flexibility and thus the springiness, oh, oh certain directions before that in other directions to prefer. The type and course of the projections can be different in detail.
Ribs running over the entire length can be pressed out, which are then advantageously higher on the arches, where the strongest stresses occur, than in the rest of the supports. A larger number of additional protrusions can also be attached to the corners, which run flatter and flatter from the corners.
In addition, reinforcement sheet metal inserts can also be provided for the most heavily beam sprayed areas, which together with the main sheets form a double wall and can be firmly connected to the latter by means of flanges, ie, pressure and tensile strength.
The drawing relates to various exemplary embodiments of the subject matter of the invention.
1 shows a diagrammatic representation of a (chair with supports according to the invention, FIG. 2 shows part of a support in longitudinal section, FIG. 3 shows part of a modified embodiment of the support in front view.
5 and 6 some different cross-sections of the supports in a schematic dairy position, FIGS. 7, 8 and 9 different training forms of parts of the support in a diagrammatic representation, FIGS. 10 and 11:
Supports with reinforcement parts inserted in places in a diagrammatic representation, FIGS. 12 and 13 two embodiments of supports with armrests formed from their sheet metal.
14 shows an arrangement of intersecting supports.
The chair according to FIG. 1 has the two supports a and b, which consist of a thin sheet metal. The thickness of the sheet is about 0.5 to 3 mm.
The (side edges c and d are bent up, in addition a middle longitudinal rib e is pressed out. Andean arches of the U-shaped bent supports at f, g and h, rib e is higher than on Eden, as can be seen from Fig. 2 eT other places in order to stiffen the support particularly strongly here.
The supports a and b carry the gitzfläche j and backrest i, the seat and the backrest spring like the known ones. ; Steel chairs;
the angles are f, g and la. but stiffened against overstressing and exceeding the elastic limit through the higher rib e. Due to the different heights of the rib e at the arches, the flexibility can:
the backrest i, for example, be kept larger than that of the seat surface j by. the rib e at point h is less high than at points f or g.
3 shows a somewhat modified embodiment of the (support. In addition to a rib extending over the entire length of the support, there are shorter ribs 1 on the lower arch f The height of the ribs l decreases with the distance from the arch f, and at in the ribs l disappear completely.
In the cross-sections of the support according to FIG. 4, in addition to the rib e, a reinforcement is provided by flanging the edges at n. Pulling up the gante d results in further stiffening of the support, also against lateral stress. The profile according to FIG. 5 has two ribs e, while the profile according to FIG. 6 has a relatively high central rib e and two adjacent parallel ribs e that are less high.
The support according to FIG. 7 has ribs e 'running obliquely in the transverse direction with recesses in between, while the rib e according to FIG. 8 is guided in a serpentine shape. In the training according to FIG. 9, longitudinal ribs e and perpendicular to these transverse ribs e 'are arranged.
In the side support o of Fig. 10, a reinforcement sheet strip r is inserted into the main sheet o from about the middle of the seat at p to the lower middle of the storage at q, the shape of which adapts to the profile of the latter and so the support on the vertical part and makes the subsequent arches double-walled.
In the support of Fig. 11 is only or insert strips r through im. Longitudinal ribs lying in the middle are stiffened, while the main sheet o 'carrying this strip is smooth and only has flanged edges on the outside, which suitably encompass flanges of the strip and thereby firmly connect the latter to the main sheet.
The side support according to FIG. 12 has: individual sheet metal reinforcements s inserted into the main sheet o2 in the corners. The backrest part t is split open, and the outer half is bent forward to form an armrest u.
13 shows a side support which also has inlaid reinforcements and in which the upper part of the main sheet metal is slit longitudinally in the middle and the armrest, which is stiffened by ribs, and the seat support, which is also stiffened, by bending the slotted parts accordingly z is formed.
14 shows two side supports x and y, the lower support parts of which cross at the point x '. This also achieves good lateral strength without the need for special transverse struts connecting the carriers x and y .
In addition, the embodiment of the sheet metal supports can be changed in various ways. It is essential that the sheet metal from which the supports are made is provided with projections made from the flat material itself, which increase the section modulus against bending loads.
