472,858. Lubrication indicators; actuation of switches. BROWNING, J. G. June 16, 1936, No. 16693. [Class 12 (iii)] [Also in Group XXXVII] A device for indicating the presence or failure of pressure in a lubricating system employing viscous lubricant comprises pressure-responsive means operating a member frictionally hinged to an electric contactmaking member. The lubricant is pumped through a chamber b having a diaphragm c which operates a lever d, pivoted at s and frictionally hinged at J to an arm e. When the pressure fails, the arm e contacts with a screw g to complete an alarm circuit, which may also, through a relay, stop the machine. Normally, the arm e contacts with a screw f to complete a lamp circuit to indicate that the lubricant is under pressure. The outlet from the chamber b is provided with an aperture-adjusting screw.
