Abstract
472,568. Current collectors for electric vehicles. STAGEY. G. V., and LONDON PASSENGER TRANSPORT BOARD. Oct. 2, 1936, No. 26739. [Class 104 (iii)] The trolly head 16 is mounted on the pole 11 by means of a sleeve 21 and a frangible link 27 extending between the head and a sleeve 12 and clamped on the pole, so that if, as a result of dewirement, the head is subjected to excessive stress through colliding with overhead gear, the link breaks and allows the head to slide off the pole. The head is prevented from rotating on the sleeve 12 by a lug 15 on the sleeve engaging a slot in the sleeve 21, and a spring 25 on the head may help to retain it on the pole by engaging behind the lug 15.
