Abstract

472,478. Tip-up seats. PARKES, S. R. March 20, 1936, No..8303. [Classes 52 (ii) and 52 (v)] A tip-up seat of the kind adapted to be attached to a vertical partition &c. and to fold flat against it, comprises a seat A, a pair of fixing brackets B, B<1>, to each of which are pivoted long links C and shorter links D, the outer ends of which are pivoted to brackets E, E<1> secured to the sides of the seat. The pivot pins of the links C and D on the wall brackets are not in the same vertical line, and the links C are arranged outside the brackets, while the links D are inside ; the pivot pins on the seat brackets are in different horizontal lines, and each link D is provided intermediate its ends with a stop F against which the corresponding long link C abuts.
