Abstract

472,102. Opening milk &c, tins. LYON, J. Jan. 6, 1937, No. 378. Convention date, Jan. 22, 1936. [Classes 21 and 66] An attachment to a milk &c. tin, providing means for piercing pouring and vent openings in the end, comprises a plate 5 attachable to the tin by spring fingers engaging over the beaded edge 8, and provided with a pair of depending tubular conduits 10 formed with bevelled points 11 adapted to pierce the end. The plate carries a pair of spring-controlled levers L pivoted to struck-up ears 9 and provided with washers 27 normally closing the upper ends of the conduits. The ends of the plate are formed into pouring lips 6.
