[Class 124] A shield of arch form is attached to the handle of a pneumatic pick to protect the hand of the operator The shield 12 is mounted or pivots 13, 14, clipped or welded to the tool handle the shield having projections 17 engaging recesses in the washer 15 mounted on the spindle. By pressing the shield inwardly it can be adjusted in angular position and then re-secured. Several modifications of the secured device are described. In a further modification, the shield is clipped to the tool body with a bifurcated spring.
