Abstract

470,213. Switchgear structures. DAVIES, D. R., and METROPOLITANVICKERS ELECTRICAL CO., Ltd. July 17, 1936, No. 19937. [Class 38 (v)] A potential transformer 9 in a metal-clad switchgear is located on top of an oil tank having an elongated opening 12 through which projects a terminal 10 of the transformer, the arrangement being such that by moving the transformer casing horizontally connection and disconnection can be effected between the transformer and an enclosed conductor of the switchgear. Two alternative positions for the transformer are shown. In one, it is mounted above a tank 5 containing the isolating switch 4 ; in the other position it is mounted above an additional tank 6 placed between the cable sealing box 2 and the isolating switch. In each case, the transformer casing is movable on rails 7 and carries a plate 15 which covers the slot 12 in any position to which the transformer mav be moved. In the disconnected position of the transformer, the terminal 10 may engage an earthing terminal 16.
