Abstract

470,182. Reflectors. LUCAS, Ltd., J., and HANMER, F. Feb. 10, 1936, No. 3983. [Class 97 (i)] A reflecting sign for a cycle is mounted in a recess or aperture in th mudguard with its oute surface flush or substan tially flush with the sur face of the mudguard and means are provide( at the rear of the sign to hold it in position In Fig. 1, a recess b is formed in the mudguard a and the edge of the mudguard around the aperture is shaped to form a recess c and flange d. The reflector e is mounted in a holder f having a flange g to seat on the flange d, and also having a groove h to receive a spring fastening-ring i which is placed in position after the reflector has been passed through the aperture b. In another form the rear portion of the holder f is externally threaded to receive an internally-threaded fastening- cap which is screwed over it from the rear to secure the reflector in position. In a further form, Figs. 6 and 7, the holder f is provided with a cross-piece m which can be passed through notches n in the recess c, the reflector then being rotated to cause the bent over ends of the member m to engage the flange d.
