469,753. Refrigerating. NYAULD, H. Oct. 28, 1935, Nos. 29730 and 29731. Void. Convention dates, Oct. 31, 1934 and June 26, 1935. [Class 29] Cold is produced by the fall in pressure and evaporation of a liquefied natural gas, e.g. propane or butane, used as fuel supply to a burner 40 or other combustion device, which may be used for cooking. The liquid fuel is fed from a bottle through a pipe 29 to an evaporator 35 placed in a refrigerating chamber 26 and preferably provided with a freezing compartment 28. After evaporation the gas is led to the burner through a pipe 38, which may have a coiled part 37 inside the refrigerator. The evaporator may contain a mixture of glycerine and water or other non- freezing liquid through which the gas bubbles and which acts as a cold accumulator liquid. The inlet valve 30 to the evaporator may be controlled by a spring loaded diaphragm 31, and a valve 39 may be provided in front of the burner. Alternatively the inlet to the evaporator may be controlled by a float valve. Another arrangement is described in which the liquefied gas is sprayed through a nozzle into a jacket space between an outer insulated casing and an inner metal walled refrigerating chamber, the gas being led from the jacket to the burner.
